Since graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I have been working with Scottish Opera and as a freelancer to gain more experience in making, set dressing and working backstage.

Working with Scottish Opera as a running props technician I have had the chance to work backstage on 7 productions, all with different requirements including weapon handling, food preparation and the use of fake blood. Getting the chance to work backstage, I have gained more of an insight into how a show is produced and how props are used, stored and transported. This awareness translates into props I make by ensuring they are both effective and practical.

I want to continue to advance my making skills and gain more practice working in different creative areas. The passion for the work I do is shown in the final product as is my enthusiasm to be part of the project. When joining a new team or working independently, I always ensure that there is clear communication and display my reliability from the beginning
